Following on from a chat with Mark the landlord of The Rowbarge at his recent beer festival, we were commissioned to brew a house beer for them. It's called Compass Point Ale, which is copper coloured bitter using only English malts and hops. It's a good session strength ale that's been selling very well.

Ascot Ales Market Ale 4%

In December last year we were set a challenge by David the landlord at one of our favourite freehouses 'The Trafalgar' in South Wimbledon. This gem of a pub is a small, traditional 'Local' with a terrific range of ales and a passion for live music.

We were asked to brew a session beer using locally sourced ingredients. So, using malted barley grown in Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire and Wiltshire and Kentish hops we brewed a 4% session ale called 'Market Ale'.

The beer is a rich, malty copper coloured ale with a dry and bitter finish that is very easy to drink and reminiscent of bitters from days gone by. It's exclusively available at The Traf on draught and will also be available in bottle conditioned from Keith Cook's Farmers' Market at Merton Abbey Mills in South Wimbledon every weekend from March.
